The Code of Conduct for Industrial Harmony (COC) was established in 1975. The COC document was produced through tripartite discussions between three parties: the government (through the then Ministry of Labour and Manpower), representatives of the Malaysian Trades Union Congress (MTUC), and representatives of the Malayan Council of Employers\u2019 Organisations.<\/p>\n

The COC was created as a guide and reference <\/span> for employers, employees, and trade unions in handling industrial relations issues and employee management in the workplace. Its purpose is to establish principles and guidelines on industrial relations practices to achieve more satisfactory industrial harmony and create a conducive working environment.<\/p>\n

The agreement on the COC was signed by the then Minister of Labour and Manpower, the Malayan Council of Employers\u2019 Organisations, and the Malaysian Trades Union Congress on 9 February 1975.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div> \n\t<\/div> <\/div><\/div><\/div>

The Ministry intends to review and update the COC to improve its existing guidelines, aimed at further enhancing harmonious industrial relations at the workplace in alignment with current labor trends.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div> \n\t<\/div> <\/div><\/div><\/div>
