Engagement Session with Toyo Tyre Malaysia Employees’ Union

Activity Description

On 31 January 2024, the Perak Industrial Relations Department received a courtesy visit from the Toyo Tyre Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. Workers’ Union. The visit was attended by Mr. Mohd Al-Azham bin Mahayudin, President of the Union; Mr. Mohd Khaidir bin Mohd Rodzi, Vice President; Mr. Mohd Firdaud bin Abdul Manaf, Secretary; and Mr. Khairul Anuar bin Mat Saad, Treasurer of the Union. Several topics were discussed during the meeting, including workers’ rights in trade union activities, the benefits of unionisation, procedures for conducting negotiations with employers, and other related matters. The Perak Industrial Relations Department also took the initiative to introduce the concept of co-determination to the Union. In addition, the Perak Industrial Relations Department welcomed the Union’s invitation to attend and deliver briefings on Industrial Harmony and the Right to Unionise to the employees of Toyo Tyres Sdn. Bhd.
